:The Bible is full of wisdom and best practices to live our life. The past weeks we went over 7 healthy practices and I wanted to make a nice page for you as a reference. These healthy practices have been backed by science and more importantly God’s true, unfailing Word. The list below has links to the blog posts with more bible verses, information and some scientific findings. The unusual, biblical health practices we discussed were:
“It is vain for you to rise up early,
To retire late,
To eat the bread of painful labors;
For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.”
2. Friendship & Companionship
“Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.” - Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
*Be Cautious though*
“Do not be deceived: 'Bad company corrupts good morals.’” - 1 Corinthians 15:33
"Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving"
~ Colossians 4;2
“Yet even now,” declares the Lord,
“Return to Me with all your heart,
And with fasting, weeping and mourning;”
~ Joel 2:12
"By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.”
~ Genesis 2:2-3
6. Honor your Father and Mother
“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be prolonged in the land which the Lord Your God gives you.”
~ Exodus 20:12
7. Serving Others
And if you give yourself to the hungry
And satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
Then your light will rise in darkness
And your gloom will become like midday.
~ Isaiah 58:10
These things listed may not be what you first think about when trying to get healthy and live a full life, but these practices get results. Jesus said, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” He wants us to live a full and healthy life. Therefore, God will never stop guiding us on the correct path. We can trust His strong value for life, His love for us and His omniscience. We can trust His path because “Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!” (Matthew 7:9-11) He will guide your steps as you journey to a healthy life as you trust in Him and
