Along the way it is easy to feel weary and low energy, but when you look at Isaiah 40:29-31” He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. I am growing closer to God and growing in love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Continue to remind yourself of the fruit that is growing. It is a work in progress. As we read in Galatians 5:22-23, “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” This is something we will continue to grow in and extend yourself grace during the learning process. It is apart of our grow as Christians, keep going after it. Remind yourself it is not a genetic flaw or something that is apart of your identity, it is something that is growing as a fruit of the Spirit. |

I am a new creation in Christ. I am on a new path.
Remind yourself that you are a new creation. Your past, even something that happened yesterday is not tied to your identity today. Remind yourself of 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” You are a new creation. Do not connect past missteps or things that have happened to yourself now. They are not connected. Use this to eliminate those thoughts that you are a failure and that you always do this. It is not a running tally you are a NEW creation. You are on a new path. |

With God all things are possible.
“Is anything too hard for the Lord? “ (Genesis 18:14) There is nothing too hard for God. No matter what is going on, God can do it. Nothing is too hard for God, all things are possible with Him. remind yourself that this transformation is possible with God.
Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #9
God made me perfectly and in His image.
Turn off the noise from advertisements and marketing exploiting your pain points and turn to God. Listen to what He says about you and your body. Remember that God says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13) It is important to know your value because research has found that holding negative attitudes about yourself and your weight interferes with physical activity levels and outcomes. (Mensinger & Meadows, 2017) I have seen this anecdotally in my clients and their ability to stay on their plan was harder when they had a lower view of themself, but when addressed their adherence increased. All by reminding themself of what God says about them. |
You were crafted in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). You bear His mage and He formed you perfectly. He created you unique to display a part of Him that no one else can display with a story that no one else can tell. You have so much value remind yourself that you are perfectly made.
Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #10
I am a child of God. I am completely loved and accepted.
Remember your true identity. Remind yourself of your position and the access that you have to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He loves you so deeply. As you read John 1:12-13, remind yourself of how you got this position. “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” ~ John1:12-13 You did nothing to deserve and you can do nothing to revoke this position, just accept His generous, gracious gift. Remember this for your weight loss journey to realize that your actions do not change your identity. Your identity is completely secure. |
