Yes, I Want This!

Easily Lose Weight with Christian Weight Loss Affirmations

12/21/2020

On your weight loss journey you want to make sure that your mindset and thoughts are rooted and based in God’s True Word.

A lot of times women have untrue negative self talk that they speak over themselves,  It is really important to remember this Proverb, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:21)

Being diligent about the words that you say over yourself is really important. The words that you say have a big influence and when you draw attention to them you realize how negative and destructive those words can be. I encourage you to not only bring your attention to your thoughts, but to also replace them with these powerful affirmations based off of God’s Word
If you are here, you are probably looking to loss weight and keep it off, but in order to make this attempt different you will want to have affirmations for your weight loss journey. As you may know losing weight and getting healthier can be tough. The road is not linear, filled with ups and downs, stress and plateaus meaning that you will need a resilient mindset to really be successful in the long-term.

This is why I put some Christian weight loss affirmations for you to carry you through the journey. You will need to have a positive e mindset filled with God’s Word to make this be permanent weight loss. and complete transformation.

Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #1
The Spirit of God gives me power, love and self-discipline.

Picture
It is important o remember this verse from 2 Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”

Your power, love and self-discipline is from God. You do not need to conjure it up from within, but instead look upward. Look to God and continually. This will not only help you to take a more gracious approach to yourself when you realize that a slip up does not have to do with your self worth or not being good enough. Just regroup and remember where your strength, love and self-discipline is from. You no longer need to just try harder, but can turn to your Father.

Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #2
I am God’s temple and His Spirit is within me.

Picture
It is important to remind yourself that His Spirit is within you. You are valuable and the same power that raised Jesus from the grave lives within you.

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

Use this weight loss affirmation to remind yourself of your value as a temple where God’s Spirit dwell and the strength that you have within you.

Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #3
God is my strength and He changes my perspective so I have hope in all situations.

The end of Habakkuk ends with Habakkuk changing his perspective that he is currently surrounded by remembering God’s faithfulness and the promises that will come about. Leading Habakkuk full of hope, trust and joy when he says:
The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.
~ Habakkuk 3:19

He knows how chaotic the world can be, but when he connected with God his perspective changed. This is going to be an important practice as you lose weight and continue to connected with God to change your perspective to be filled with hope during your weight loss journey.

Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #4
My hope is in God who continually makes me energized, and invigorated no matter what I am going through

Picture
It is really important to remind yourself where your strength comes from. Along the way it is easy to feel weary and low energy, but when you look at Isaiah 40:29-31”

He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
    will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
~ Isaiah 40:29-31

You can be reminded that God renews your strength. Continually restore your relationship with God by taking the time to reconnect with God. This will keep you connected to the true source of power in your life along the journey to keep you going and connected to God

Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #5
God’s loving eye is watching over me and He will instruct me on the way I should go.

Remind yourself when you feel confused about what to do and feel confused if you are going the right way of Psalm 8:32, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

God is watching you and He wants the best for you. He will guide you to make the right decision, just continue to lean on Him

Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #6
I am growing closer to God and growing in love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Picture
Continue to remind yourself of the fruit that is growing. It is a work in progress.

As we read in Galatians 5:22-23, “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” This is something we will continue to grow in and extend yourself grace during the learning process. It is apart of our grow as Christians, keep going after it. Remind yourself it is not a genetic flaw or something that is apart of your identity, it is something that is growing as a fruit of the Spirit.

Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #7
I am a new creation in Christ. I am on a new path.

Remind yourself that you are a new creation. Your past, even something that happened yesterday is not tied to your identity today. Remind yourself of 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” You are a new creation.

Do not connect past missteps or things that have happened to yourself now. They are not connected. Use this to eliminate those thoughts that you are a failure and that you always do this. It is not a running tally you are a NEW creation. You are on a new path.

Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #8
With God all things are possible.

Picture
“Is anything too hard for the Lord? “ (Genesis 18:14) There is nothing too hard for God. No matter what is going on, God can do it. This includes things you deem huge and really small, including your weight and your health. Nothing is too hard for God, all things are possible with Him. remind yourself that this transformation is possible with God.

Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #9
God made me perfectly and in His image.

Picture
Turn off the noise from advertisements and marketing exploiting your pain points and turn to God. Listen to what He says about you and your body. Remember that God says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13)

It is important to know your value because research has found that holding negative attitudes about yourself and your weight interferes with physical activity levels and outcomes. (Mensinger & Meadows, 2017) I have seen this anecdotally in my clients and their ability to stay on their plan was harder when they had a lower view of themself, but when addressed their adherence increased. All by reminding themself of what God says about them.
You were crafted in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). You bear His mage and He formed you perfectly. He created you unique to display a part of Him that no one else can display with a story that no one else can tell. You have so much value remind yourself that you are perfectly made.

Christian Weight Loss Affirmation #10
I am a child of God. I am completely loved and accepted.

Remember your true identity. Remind yourself of your position and the access that you have to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He loves you so deeply. As you read John 1:12-13, remind yourself of how you got this position.

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”
~ John1:12-13

You did nothing to deserve and you can do nothing to revoke this position, just accept His generous, gracious gift. Remember this for your weight loss journey to  realize that your actions do not change your identity. Your identity is completely secure.
