God is Powerful and Faithful

12/15/2018

We all need a reminder from time to time about who God is, especially when we get stressed. We tend to focus on the problem instead of God, the solution. He is the one who writes your story and has a plan of redemption for the problem. I wanted to share with you today two types of verses, one section of verses about God’s power and another one about His faithfulness. God is so many things and His perfect Holiness is what makes Him so perfect, loving, and comforting as your Father.

God's Power

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 18:14
Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.

Exodus 14:13-16, 21-22
Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground…Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.

2 Chronicles 20:6
You(The Lord) rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.

Psalm 46:7-9
The Lord Almighty is with us;     the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Come and see what the Lord has done,     the desolations he has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease     to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;     he burns the shields with fire.”

Psalm 103:19
The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.

Isaiah 45:6-7
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
I form the light and create darkness,
    I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the Lord, do all these things.

Jeremiah 32:17
Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.

Daniel 3:19-27
Then Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual 20 and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace. So these men, wearing their robes, trousers, turbans and other clothes, were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace. The king’s command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace.
Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?”
They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.”
He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”
Nebuchadnezzar then approached the opening of the blazing furnace and shouted, “Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!”
So Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the fire, 27 and the satraps, prefects, governors and royal advisers crowded around them. They saw that the fire had not harmed their bodies, nor was a hair of their heads singed; their robes were not scorched, and there was no smell of fire on them.

Daniel 6:21-22

Daniel answered, “May the king live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.”

Luke 5:17
And the power of the Lord was with him to heal.

Revelation 21:6
He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.

Revelation 22:13

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End

God's Faithfulness

Genesis 24:26-27
Then the man bowed down and worshiped the Lord, saying, “Praise be to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has not abandoned his kindness and faithfulness to my master. As for me, the Lord has led me on the journey to the house of my master’s relatives.”

Numbers 23:19-20
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? I have received a command to bless; he has blessed, and I cannot change it.

Deuteronomy 32:4

He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
    upright and just is he.

1 Kings 8:56
“Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.”

Psalm 27:1,3
"The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread...Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In spite of this I shall be confident."

Psalm 36:5
Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.

Psalm 89:8
Who is like you, Lord God Almighty?
You, Lord, are mighty, and your faithfulness surrounds you.

Hosea 11:9
“For I am God, and not a man— the Holy One among you.”

1 Corinthians 1:9
God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord

2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

2 Timothy 2:13
if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.
I pray that these biblical truths penetrate deep into your heart to remove any fear, stress or burden you may have. I pray that you are able to recall these verses when you need them.
