These thoughts are way top common and it is because all too often diets just tell you to eat lead.
The weight loss industry is leaving you high and dry. i mean think about it, if eating less and losing weight was that easy would there be that many different diets out there?
Why would so many people not be successful on a diet?
A big part is because a lot of times diets gloss over how to feel satiated and address your body needs. It makes approaches like one size fits all clothing… meaning it doesn’t really fit everyone.
If a diet does not address individual needs the body is going to keep signaling to keep eating in an attempt to get this need met. It is only a matter of time when those signals are going to beat out willpower of just trying harder.
This is a bit personalized but you need to have the right percentages of macro-nutrients and getting adequate micro-nutrients and this changes throughout the month. It is totally normal and adjusting your diet it match the changes can make a huge impact.
As much as personalized nutrition guidance can be really important, there is something else I really need to bring up…
For some women, not being able to stop is more from a pattern of thoughts and emotions. This means that when they are bored, around certain people, stressed or upset they just cannot stop eating. If I have to be honest, most women have a little bit of both which can make e it difficult to break away.
But, It is possible with a God-centered framework.
You can overcome this to feel satisfied and finally stop eating. Let me breakdown the process for you a bit here.
The first stage to stop the cycle of eating:
Prevent the behavior
Make food less visible. Don’t leave a bowl of nuts or candy on the counter, you are going to grab and eat it too easily and without much thought. There have been tons of studies that show you will eat more than if it were away. Even if you think you are okay try to not have a visual reminder around to eat during this first stage. If this is not possible, put more physical reminders to turn to God and be satisfied by Him.
Ideally, you want to make it physically harder to get food- especially foods you typically can’t stop eating. I am talking top self, bottom shelf, hidden behind stuff. If you can, try to avoid having those foods in the house. This is only the first stage don’t worry this does not need to be your life, but as we go through the process changing your environment can be helpful at this point in the journey.
The second stage so you can stop saying, “I can’t stop eating:”
Find a Pattern
See if there’s a pattern of feelings or thoughts that lead you to eat. Try to write down the scenario about how you felt , who you were around and what the environment was like.
Reflect to see if there is anything that is coming up in a pattern or if there are past pains that are unprocessed. These can be greatly contributing to these feelings. Some guidance may be important here, but with the right guidance you can uncover this.
The third stage so you actually stop eating:
Process and Address the Root Issue
This is not an easy stage, but it is crucial to real long term results.
Here you will have to process and address patterns you noticed in the second stage with God. really go to Him and address those triggers. Really look at emotions to be able to process emotions a wide variety of emotions without turning to habits that you do not want.
This will be a lot of digging into emotions, personality and seeing how God fills these areas. Really digging g into God’s Word and listening to Him and what He says about you. This is crucial to get your breakthrough.
Trust me, I have seen it time and time again. I start working with a client they think they are doomed, but when we work through everything get things dialed in they get a breakthrough! With the right process, support and framework you can breakaway from these feelings. You do not need to be stuck.
Begin the process of getting free from this empty feeling. It isn’t gong to be overnight, but it is possible…Is anything too hard for God?
