We typically take our relationship with a person when processing their words. Even something as simple as, “You look great,” or “You are the nicest person,” means something different coming from a sales person, a friend, a spouse, or a stranger. The closer and more trustworthy someone will alter the impact those words make on ourselves.
If we do not really know God, His words do not carry the weight the Bible intended. God is Holy, just, immutable, faithful, angry, jealous, powerful, and emotional. There is no one like Him! He stands head and shoulders about everyone else. No one or group of people could even come close to the glory of God. He is magnificent and marvelous, but you cannot get that by just reading someone else’s words. You need to really experience His love and know His truth. It differently involves reading the Bible and uncovering all the amazing layers of His personality. The more time and more knowledge you have of God changes things. As you realize God’s heart for renewal and redemption woven throughout the Bible, it begins to effect the way you think about the world and God. Seeing and experiencing God’s grace in action in your life, your friend’s life, and throughout the Bible brings in more knowledge on Himself. As you grow deeper into the knowledge of God how much God cares about each person and single thing being restored through His love and grace it permeates into other areas of your life.
Moving to a point where you can declare, “God is flawless! God is so far above anything else in the world. He is in complete control, ruling over all, in complete control. I am kept safe in His Holy name. He alone establishes my life in His Holiness. Nothing else can compete with Him. He is victorious over all! I can fully trust His directions, and I need to. He has shown Himself to be holy and gracious, so I need to heed His warnings and directions. God gives me warnings and opportunities to repent and turn my eyes back towards Him, because I am called to a deep relationship with God to love Him and know His wrath and amazing works. Trusting that He has everything. He knows how to weave a beautiful story of restoration in my life. The great “I AM” is my source of trust and confidence. I can put my full trust in God because He, “is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8). He is the Perfect Judge, who has authority over every single aspect of my life. His justice is needed in my life, so I can live freely. Though I may want to judge and seek revenge, that is not the heart of God. He wants me to live life to the fullest, and I am the most free when I allow Him to be the Judge. I need His perfect judgment in my life. I need to whole heartedly trust God’s judgement and positioning because His love for me is deeper and more complete than I can imagine.
There is nothing He does not have control over. He has my entire life worked out, and deep love for God will not leave any room for idols or allow me to focus on lesser things that lead me down a less effective path. Only He has a perfect path in a jealous love His jealousy shows me His passion and protection over me and my life. He deeply cares and is watchful over every area of my life wanting it to be lined up with Him. God is my number one! His jealousy is reveals a piece of the depth of His love for me. God’s jealous love provides comfort to me knowing that He is in complete control! He rules over all. He sustains all things and can do anything. There is nothing beyond iIs reach. There is no area of my life that is untouched and unseen by Him. When battles intimidate me, I just turn to Him. His unfailing power and unfailing love always acts for me to ensure I am protected and covered.”
Knowledge of God ushers in a sense of peace, hope and joy. These things have been scientifically proven to lead to health. Having peace reduces stress and anxiety meaning God’s peace can lower blood pressure, improve sleep, improve digestion and can even lead to weight loss! Negative self-beliefs and hopelessness are associated with depression, but being secure in knowing who God is and having His Word writer on your heart lowers rates of depression. Feeling joy promotes a healthier lifestyle, and boosts your immune system! Laughing decreases stress hormones. Knowing God and realizing how we have an emotional God frees us to have emotions. Our emotions positive and negative have a place in our life and we do not need to hid or try to numb them. David, the man after God’s heart own heart was incredibly emotional with God and God LOVED IT! David would range from pure joy and elation to being angry and frustrated at God thankfully for us our perfect Father is there to listen and be with us in every moment! Turning to God with our emotion instead of hiding or concealing them brings in a whole new realm of health benefits because of this strong link between emotional and physical health.
The only lasting way to achieve this confident, stress-free, healthy life is by knowing God and having God’s love and Word infiltrating your heart. He loves to reveal Himself and wants you to know Him it just takes some work like all relationships <3
Side note: The middle part in quotes were made from reading various bible verses and personalizing them. If you are interested I would be more than happy to share the verses, email, comment, or DM! Heads up though there are a lot which is why I did not add them as I originally intended. Also, the middle part is not a say this out loud or read this once and you are golden, God is a person and knowing a normal person takes a lot more than reading one person's words, so how much more would it take to know someone as complex and above as than God?
