The Father's Love

4/2/2019

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
~ 1 John 2:15-16
We have a tendency to focus on temporary things that are not important in the grand scheme. It is extremely easy to get caught up with social media, what we look like, what other people think, our bank account, getting the car, getting the house and the list goes on. We start focusing on things that can be gone in an instant! Houses, reputations, looks, money can be gone in one tragic accident.
What do people gain from all their labors
at which they toil under the sun?
~ Ecclesiastes 1:3
Reflecting on Ecclesiastes, everything can be fleeting. People work hard and do their best and have nothing to show for it. You may feel bleak about the future, but there is still hope there is something that lasts, His loving kindness never fades. It is easy to get caught up into distractions, but loving the Father brings satisfaction. He changes our view of what is important and how we interact with others. He removes idols from our hearts as we desire Him more. He makes more room for this fulfilling, satisfying love that only He can bring.

We have our own goals and desires, but what is our number one priority in our life?

What can bring satisfaction greater than the Father’s love?

What could make our life more significant than Jesus dying for us?

Our eyes may deceive us momentarily about what is important, but a life filled with His love is the only way to live a truly healthy and fulfilled life. A life with His love, is one without stress, striving, questioning significance and doubts about being good enough. With the Father's love you have comfort, hope, peace, and joy. There is complete assurance of God’s love and care for you no matter what you see with you natural eyes.

I pray that we all have our prideful vision corrected and can see what is truly important. Father God, I pray that You help us to live out a life emptied of idols and living completely for You. We know that only in Your love can these idols be broken and for us to live a life full of freedom so we ask, as Your children to set us free. I pray that those who feel distant from You are able to sense Your presence and loving embrace. I pray that every person, from all over the earth is able to experience Your amazing love!  Amen.

Lucky are those who have father by their side while growing up. I have a father, but since my parents were divorced, I am forced to grow with my mom alone. The only father I am used to is the God father we have. I cry with him, I enjoy my happiness with him and I even blame him most of the time. It really feels good because it is like I have my own father even without physically.
